Spencer Rickett Sunderland a 20 year old Groom from Thaxted Essex enlisted into the 19th hussars in November 1899 . He served in South Africa from June 1900 until March 1902 . He was Wounded Severely on 10/12/1901 at Trigaardsfontein ( GSW left leg ) and was discharged as unfit for further service in July 1902
