Captain Eric Belfield 4th Middlesex Regiment was killed in action on the 31st of July 1917, the first day of the Battle of Paaschendaele.He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial Belgium

Capt Belfield has been missing since the 31st of July of this year. He was last seen by his fellow officers lying in a shell hole wounded in the knee and shoulder and is believed to have been taken prisoner by the Germans when they advanced. He is the husband of Mrs Belfield Sketty Park Glamorgan who will be glad to receive news of him.
